Formerly, a book, now available on CD-ROM, this title was written to be an introduction to the geologic interpretation of seismic data. Seismic interpreters can be geologists, geophysicists, and even engineers. To be effective, it is necessary to teach geologists (and engineers) a bit of geophysics, and geophysicists (and engineers) a bit of geology. A textbook that presents an exhaustive treatment of all topics of relevance to seismic interpreters (in the petroleum industry, and elsewhere) could fill volumes and would need to be prepared by a team of authors. Inevitably, arbitrary decisions had to be made about the topics to include, how much detail to go into each topic, and where to draw the line between "current practice" and "current research." Hopefully the contents of this text will provide the most benefit to the greatest number of new interpreters.
